Poker pro turned celebrity, Annie Duke, has commented on American Idol’s Adam Lambert and his tragic loss to rival, Kris Allen.

According to Duke, Adam Lambert – clearly a crowd favorite from the beginning of the show – lost to Allen because of his sexual tendencies.

“I am so disappointed,” said Duke following the results of American Idol last week. “I seriously think Adam lost just because he is gay. Bummed. Bummed. Bummed.”

While Lambert was reportedly openly gay during before the competition, he did not scream out the fact during the eighth season of the show in the hope of not rocking the boat with a significant percentage of the American public who might have seen this as a problem.

Kris Allen, on the other hand, played his trump throughout – that of being a devout (and naturally straight) Christian who had only recently married his childhood sweetheart.

Annie Duke may have been so supportive of Lambert because she too recently lost out in the finals of a celebrity show to the underdog.

As if anyone could forget, Duke recently took part in Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice and was flagged to be the winner against her arch rival, comedian Joan Rivers. In the weeks leading up to the finals, Rivers released a scathing attack on Duke, calling her “Hitler” and “white trash”.

However, despite the incredible support that Duke received from the public, especially her devoted poker fans, Rivers came up from behind and took the title, very much like what happened in the finals of American Idol.

On Tuesday night before the finals, Adam Lambert was leading with -350 odds, with the young, albeit talented Kris Allen, as the +200 underdog. Yet, by Wednesday evening, at the opening of the show, Lambert and Allen were battling it neck to neck at the betting sites.

Annie Duke managed to see the silver lining in Allen’s win, however. “Now Adam doesn’t have to sing that awful Kara song,” she said. “Makes me feel much better.”

Annie is an American idol in her own right with being the face of the USA poker sites and her efforts to help legalize online poker in the United States along with the Poker Players Alliance.

Party Poker has reissued a challenge to billionaire heiress and socialite, Paris Hilton to play against World Poker Tour Host, Mike Sexton and win a brand new Bentley.

This is not the first time that the blonde Hilton has been baited with the chance to win such a luxury car by taking on a challenge at Party Poker. Three years ago, in 2006, after the “Simple Life” star claimed that she lost her prized Bentley in a poker game, Party Poker issued her with the challenge to play against Sexton with a very real chance to win back her car.

Incredibly, Paris Hilton, who seems to nurture her very life from media attention and press shots, turned down Party Poker’s offer at the time.

However, the industry’s second largest poker room is not giving up. It has reissued the challenge and is hoping that an older and wiser Hilton will grab this opportunity with two hands.

“We challenge her to take us up on the offer,” said a statement issued by Party Poker. “Three years is a long time in show business and we’re sure she’d jump at it now - it is a simple offer for the former ‘Simple Life’ star. Following the original offer in 2006, the likes of Clonie Gownen also made public challenges to the heiress, but so far Paris has resisted.”

So why has Party Poker woken up now to offer Paris Hilton another chance? It seems that the party girl has found herself something else to whine about by saying that her (new) Bentley was vandalized recently.

Party Poker later confirmed that eggs were thrown at the vehicle, but the site felt that a lady of Paris Hilton’s social status shouldn’t be driving around in a dirty car and is now offering her the chance to throw away the old and get a new one by simply playing against Mike Sexton and winning the poker match.

Doyle Brunson is a man of honor. When someone steps within his holy circle of poker and ridicules those near and dear to him, the man with the hat has a tongue as sharp as a blade.

Brunson has started a Twitter Tirade against the Queen of Comedy, Joan Rivers, who attacked fellow Celebrity Apprentice finalist, Annie Duke of Absolutepoker, and the rest of the poker world.

Rivers, who coined Duke anything from ‘white trash’ to ‘Hitler’, even had her own daughter, Melissa, who was fired from the show, call Duke a “Whore Pit Viper”.

Doyle Brunson, WSOP bracelet winner and papa of Doyle’s Room poker site, stepped in when he saw how Ms. Duke was being abused by the comedian.

He first demanded that Rivers apologize to the poker world for generalizing about poker players by calling them ‘tax evaders’ and ‘individuals with no last names’.

He then he used the greatest invention to get those opinions out fast and furiously – Twitter – to get the last word in against Joan Rivers.

Tweets such as: “If you gave Joan Rivers a penny for intelligence, you’d get a refund” and “Joan Rivers went to the doctor for a zit on her butt. He told her it was a brain tumor” have hit the scene and Doyle Brunson has promised not to let up until Rivers apologizes to the poker world and Annie Duke.

But Rivers is not letting up. She recently posted on her blog: “Hey, poker playing is a very noble profession! Florence Nightingale was torn between nursing and a career playing Texas Hold ‘em!”

Rivers may be looking to bury the hatchet though as things may be getting too out of hand. She recently tweeted a request for the poker world to “CALM DOWN”.

Unfortunately, in a showdown between Rivers and Duke in the final of the Celebrity Apprentice show, Trump hired the comedian over Duke, causing a roar of complaints against the producers. Duke, though, managed to earn lots of money for the charity she promoted and has been taking full advantage of her TV appearance to solicit funds for Refugees International.
